WINSTON

Dear Judy and family,

I have been meaning to give you the full update on Winston, but there is so much to say, I'm not even sure I know where to begin!  He is so sweet, mellow, smart, eager to please, and loving that I could go on and on. I honestly never dreamed he would be instantly such an important member of our family whom we love and adore so completely. He made this Christmas the one that my kids will always remember -- snuggling in his soft fur, teaching him to "sit" and "come" (which he learned lightning fast), and napping by the fire.  He is such a complete love -- so calm even in the face of a revolving door of family, friends, and sometimes overly excited children over the holiday.

He is a healthy, strong little boy, who has grown extremely fast (although he still likes to be held like a baby, which we all love to do). We've given him a bath, cut his nails, and taught him to do so many things in such a short time.  The vet said he was perfect and the trainer thinks he is extraordinarily smart. We asked a trainer to come out a couple of times and teach the children some tips on how to train him...

You know that I was nervous about getting a puppy and read every book and consulted every website imaginable to prepare myself for welcoming a puppy into our home. I was prepared for every challenge and expected many. What I wasn't prepared for was a beautiful, well adjusted puppy whose only goal is to please us. The only credit I can give myself in this easy transition is that I invested the time to find you.  You are a complete gem and somehow you infuse your darling puppies with the same calm, wise, loving aura that surrounds you. You took the time to get to know our family and match us with the perfect puppy for us. And he is that --   just perfect.  I cannot thank you enough for all the time, energy, and love that you all put into raising your puppies to be such wonderful family members and loving companions. You have enriched our lives immeasurably.

Happy New Year.
